Show Life Started in Florida
Marshmallow was my very first livestock project — a hog I showed at the Okeechobee Youth Livestock Show, part of the Okeechobee County Fair in Okeechobee, FL. That’s where ‘show life’ started for me, long before I ever met a steer.
Marshmallow taught me the basics that everything since has built on: feeding schedules, grooming, and the responsibility of caring for an animal that’s counting on you every single day. When my family moved to Paris, TN and Papaw suggested I try showing a steer, I already had the fundamentals — I just had to learn to work with a much bigger animal.
