My 2025 steer project, and the year I started passing what I’d learned on to my little sister.
My 2025 Project
Sir Loin was my project the year after Dion’s Grand Champion win — and yes, I picked the name myself. He was a Class Winner in the Market Steer division at the 2025 Henry County Fair.
By this point I’d been showing for years, so a lot of my focus shifted to helping my little sister Poppy get started with her own project too. Passing on what Papaw and my past steers taught me — feeding schedules, wash-day routines, staying calm in the ring — turned out to be its own kind of learning.
Sir Loin was steady and food-motivated, which made the day-to-day work easier even as I was splitting my attention between two projects at once.
